As mentioned in other parts of my site, I am not a “shoot-n-burn” photographer. This is a trend that has cropped up as many more folks throw their hat in the professional photography ring. This session was such a success down to the last minute when … someone stole my client’s shoes. Oh yes, that happened when we walked around the corner for a quick shot. But, other than being down one pair of shoes, we walked away winning!

Updated headshots with the team at @bespokerealtyg Updated headshots with the team at @bespokerealtygroupnc is always a good time.

We photographed their latest team images at a beautiful model home in Apex, creating a fresh, polished look that fits their brand. This shoot was on Halloween, so of course I dressed up; scroll to the end to see why I was sweating more than anyone else in the room (hint: full bodysuit).

A fresh set of professional headshots, a gorgeous location, and a team that doesn't take themselves too seriously - that's a pretty great combination!

You don't need a new wardrobe. You just need a few pieces that fit well, photograph well, and look like the professional you are today (and will be tomorrow).

If you're unsure what to wear, bring a few options. I help clients make wardrobe decisions before every session. Comment MEN for my complete Men's Planning Guide.

A great headshot starts long before you step in fr A great headshot starts long before you step in front of the camera. In fact, the prep before is what turns a good shoot into an amazing shoot.

Over the years, I've noticed a few common mistakes that can make photo day more stressful than it needs to be: last-minute haircut disasters, outfit panic and missing packages, trying a new skincare treatment the week before (please don't!), and showing up running on three hours of sleep. The good news? They're all easy to avoid.

A little preparation goes a long way toward helping you feel confident, relaxed, and ready for photos you'll actually love. When you book your shoot, you will receive tons of planning info - read it! Comment PREP and I'll send you my free Headshot & Branding Session Preparation Guide.

Ok, which of these have you been guilty of? I won't call anyone out, but you know who you are...
