My last regular sessions of 2009 were private mini sessions set up by a group of friends and neighbors on the beautiful Fearrington grounds. Let me tell you, this is one gorgeous neighborhood! The weather was gorgeous and the kids were as well. It was a FANTASTIC way to wrap up the year!
So, this Mom is a photographer that has lots of photos of her sweet girls. What she is lacking is what so many Mom’s are lacking - photos of themselves with their sweet kids. I think it’s easy to find a million reasons why we don’t want to be in photos and forget that years from now these are going to be precious memories. The weather was a little damp, and a little chilly and oddly foggy but I hope I captured what she was after!
I hadn’t seen this sweet girls since her newborn session a whole year ago - and look at her now! She just celebrated her first birthday and was ready to play. We arrived to Umstead to find that the heavy rain had pretty much removed all of the fall color, so when we found a pretty tree we’d huddle in front to take advantage. Such a gorgeous girl!
I just love these sweet boys and I love that I am getting the chance to watch them grow up even thought they don’t live in the Triangle. We managed to sneak this session on the only sunny day last week gave us (thank goodness!) and it’s one of the last few from 09 that I will be sharing this year! Absolutely gorgeous boys, in every way. It’s not hard to get great shots of them!
The reality of working with kids is that sometimes they are just not in the mood for photos. And sometimes, they are reeeeeeally not in the mood.
And it’s not uncommon that when one sibling is reeeeeeally not in the mood that the other is just happy as a clam.
These are the times when a laid back mom and dad with a great sense of humor come in handy because with enough time, bribes, promises, begging and we can usually crack them.
While the other sibling hangs out, chilled and relaxed as possible.
And in time, you get just what you were after!
I know the session didn’t go exactly as you had planned, but believe me that the results are fantastic!
These kids have grown so much since I saw them last year! We had a blast at a new park in Wake Forest, the first time I had been there. Crowded yes, but we had a great time playing (despite a chilly breeze that tainted us!). Already looking forward to next year guys!
A sweet little new one to share! He was an absolute angle, sleeping through just about every minute of the session. I haven’t had a sleepy sleeper in a long time! He did so well that I had a chance to sneak out and play with big brother a bit. Beautiful boys!
