Sneak Peek!

This session was geared towards big sis but we snuck in a few of little bro as well. She was a doll and we were instant friends. She showed me some sweet dance moves I’ll have to remember. And trying to shoot a baby outdoors in a garden without all my baby “stuff” is tricky - but thankfully we wore him out and managed some sleeping shots on a blanket right in the grass. Thanks for being so great!

It’s art. With your people in it!

I tell clients that the end goal of a session together is not a great portrait. We’re not trying for the head and shoulder, head turned to the side with a slight tilt shot. What you can create is a gallery and album filled with different expressions and moments that really capture your child. Mix traditional with not so traditional and end up with a custom gallery that expresses your family and your style. I love it, love it, love it when families send me shots of their galleries when they are up on the wall. Take a look at the P family gallery - fabulous!

And this one is too cute - notice baby A saying good morning to herself while they worked on the wall!

This gallery is in my new book that a few new clients have already seen. More of that to come! Thank you for sending me the photos, B!

4th of July at Haywood Hall

I just heard from Sheryl at Haywood Hall about their 4th of July event so I thought I’d share!  The folks at Haywood are so kind to let me use their beautiful grounds for many of my sessions.  It’s just a block or so from the Capital and Marbles Kid’s Museum and many other great places to take the kiddos on the 4th (and their celebration is geared towards KIDS as well!).

A little history:  Haywood Hall Museum House and Gardens is the historic home of John Haywood, North Carolina’s first treasurer and the first mayor of Raleigh.  Haywood Hall is located at 211 New Bern Place, Raleigh, NC (1 ½ block east of the Capitol).  Parking is available on New Bern Place and in the state parking lot on Edenton Street.

You can get more information on the event at 919-832-8357 or visit their site at www.haywoodhall.org.

Sneak Peek

I know I am piling up the peeks but I was not kidding when I said I had been busy!  And trust me, there is more where this came from - I’m a proofing machine!  But I had to share this sweetie - is she not the cutest thing you have ever seen?  She was so tiny and precious and I could have just cuddled her up!

Sneak Peak!

It’s a birthday boy! I was able to spend the morning with this little guy on his first birthday. He was good to me, although a little cake would have gone a long way ;-)

Sneak Peek

These are some familiar faces if you follow my blog, I have had the honor of documenting them as they go from a family of 4 to a family of 5. This session was really for the little brother, but I had to sneak in a few of the gorgeous “big kids”!

Business Spotlight - Jammin Baby!

Name: Erica Berry - owner of Jammin Baby, LLC

A little about you and your family: I have been married to my husband for almost 15 years and have two beautiful little girls (Lena, 5 and Sophia, 2). Before I had my children I worked as a Corporate Attorney in New Jersey. However, when my first child was born almost 4 months early at 25 weeks it really changed my priorities. It took me a while to decide what I was going to do - but I finally decided upon moving to North Carolina to start my own music education business (www.jamminbaby.com). I had studied music for years and love children so after attending Music Together classes with my little girl in New Jersey I really believed it was something that I could do really well and enjoy doing. It is nice to see a dream come to reality after hard work and determination. Jammin Baby has now been open for a year and it has grown tremendously. We hope to provide Music Together programs to children all over the Triangle.

How would you describe yourself? I would describe myself as extremely outgoing and motivated.

What is your most and least favorite things about owning a small business? I love owning my own business because it gives me the flexibility I need to raise my kids. The only thing I do dread about owning my own business is the bookkeeping - I hope that I will be able to hire an assistant to help me with this in the future.

Share some of your favorite things: I love finding little places to go with my daughters and with friends. I like to take mini-road trips and discover new places.

Any secrets for managing life as a Mom and business owner? I have a little secret about managing life as a Mom and business owner. I think it is most important to create “Office Hours” and get a live answering service for when you are unavailable. People respect that you will call them back at a certain time or get back to them within that time. All the other time I am either teaching or with my kids.

And lastly, any specials or promotions for Season Moore Photography blog readers? If you email me at eberry@jamminbaby.com and say you are a Season Moore Photography blog reader - I will send you a Free Music Together sample CD and/or a Jammin Baby T-Shirt (supplies and sizes are limited).
