Sneak Peek | Baby portraits in downtown Raleigh

Just a little note that I am going to be working (and a little playing too :) ) in Philedelphia this weekend and will be responding to email and voice mail when I return!

I am having trouble narrowing down my blog posts, I just love way too many photos of late! The colors are gorgeous but then you have a baby girl this stinking cute and just about any background would be perfect. Look at her!

Sneak Peek | Fall leaves and a gorgeous baby girl

It seems like the fall colors went so fast this year, and even with doubled up sessions on most days last week I still didn’t get many in during the brilliant foliage.  But as you can see this little one made it in just in time, and on a lovely warm day too.  She is just gorgeous as can be and we had a great time.  She looks like a doll!

Sneak Peek | Newborn on a warm autumn day

One of the best parts about North Carolina is the warm air that creeps in any time of year.  Mom and I were so thrilled that we got a toasty day right in the peek of the fall colors so we snuck out for a few shots.  He was older than most of my newborns at a lofty 3.5 weeks old but as mom will tell you - those few weeks make a big difference one how the session plays out.  He did not want to sleep, but wasn’t fussy - he just wanted to hang out!   But in the end he could resist no longer and passed out, just as the sun was starting to get low in the sky.  Couldn’t have worked out any better!

And this isn’t a fall shot but I was so amazed to see a newborn find his thumb!  Mom said he had done this on his ultrasounds as well.  Amazing!

Sneak Peek! | Child portraits in Raleigh

I have just been a shooting machine lately, and everyone is getting “peeked” which I hate!  But the shooting is the important part and let me tell you, I have a camera in my hands more waking hours than not these days!  The exhaustion is setting in, but we’re just one week away from finishing up the normal holiday shooting.  Weather permitting anyway, no more rain!

But back to the peek.  Some fun brothers came to enjoy a gorgeous break from the chilly weather in Raleigh.  It was a lovely day and we had fun!

Sneak Peek! | Newborn portraits in Hillsborough

Lots of holiday photos this time of year but that doesn’t mean we don’t sneak in a few new babies too! This family lives in an amazing house built 1800s. I could have spent an hour just wandering around and checking it out! But I had a sweet, sweet little one to spend my time with and she was just a doll. Being an old home and a very cold day we surrounded ourselves with space heaters to make a warm spot for her and it worked out well!

Of course you know you have a gorgeous baby waiting for you when you see this big brother!

Sneak Peek! | Urban family photography in Raleigh

I hope everyone had a fabulous Halloween, I have to admit I love it way more than the kids even do.  But this year has sped by even faster than the others and we were left hanging our cobwebs and other decorations about 20 minutes before the trick or treaters arrived.  I shoot 2-3 times more in the fall than I do any other time of year and when you add in all the kid’s activities and necessary family outings (like the fair and the pumpkin patch, you know, the important things) it leaves me going just about every minute of every day.  But I do love it, even on the days I think I just can’t drag myself out of bed and it helps that I get to meet amazing families and sweet children just about every day!

This was an urban session which I absolutely love to do even though I don’t get to do them all that often.  It’s a great alternative to a garden session and you never know what might find exploring the city streets.   Such sweet little kiddos!

Sneak Peek! | Child portraits in Cary

We have had our fair share of less than ideal weather this October and this session happened to be on one of those days.  It was gray, windy and quite chilly but this little one sparkles despite the gloomy weather!  She was an absolute doll and full of spunk and personality.  We had the most fun playing and looking back through her images I can see her little spirit shining through.  And hey, she has great hair to boot!
