Business Spotlight | Red Chair Home Interiors

Finally a new business spotlight for you!  As always if you have a local business you would like featured please shoot me a note - we all know how important it is to support local businesses, especially in the current climate.  Enjoy!

Name:  Amy Bell, Owner of Red Chair Home Interiors

A little about you and your family:  I grew up in the San Fransisco Bay Area of California and moved to North Carolina in 2004.  My family includes one great hubby, one sweet infant daughter, and three insane dogs.

A little about your business: Red Chair offers a wide variety of affordable decorating and organizing services to clients in and around Wake County.  Whether clients want help redesigning a room using their existing furnishings & accessories, selecting paint colors or fixtures, staging a home for resale, or de-cluttering a craft room, I can help!  My favorite aspect of my work (besides working with great clients, of course) is interior redesign.  I love the instant gratification that my clients experience when we transform a room together!

How would you describe yourself? I am a creative, optimistic, solution-oriented chocoholic.

Any secrets for managing life as a mom and business owner? If I can find time to get some sleep, I may be able to regenerate just enough brain cells to answer this question. :)

Where can we find your business?

Sneak Peek - Durham Baby Photography

I was so excited to get back outside with this little sweetie!  It was a beautiful day and I explored Duke Gardens with a sweet one year old and his mommy and visiting grandmother.  He was just so over the top cute and overflowing with personality.  He greeted everyone that walked by (especially the girls!)  and was such a good sport since it turns out he had an ear infection that day (it’s the 1 year old tradition to either have a cold or ear infection at our sessions!).  But sick or not I have more than enough great shots for you Mom, he is precious!

Hello again!

I am home from WPPI in Las Vegas and I think I am finally starting to get back on schedule.  I knew the jet lag would be rough but Vegas-lag is a beast of it’s own!  I had a fantastic time meeting and networking with amazing photographers from all over the world, listening to successful and brilliant speakers and brainstorming ideas for my own business.  I have started working with Lisa Reichman to update the site look and I have some new products to announce that I am over the moon excited about.  It’s so nice to come home inspired to work even harder to give my clients the absolute best experience they can dream of, and spring is near so let’s get it started!

Some housekeeping:

*March Availability is limited. If we have spoken about a date but you have not yet secured the date by paying your session fee I will have open that date up when the calendar fills.  Please contact me asap to be sure your time is held!

*FREE SESSIONS!! Yes, oh yes!  I will be mentoring two students in April and they will be shadowing me through a session.  Because the session may not be as long as normal they will be complimentary.  I just have to decide now how to give them away - something easy like a simple email, or make you work for it…hmmm… ;-)

*Mini Sessions - I will be announcing a mini session event in the upcoming weeks and there are two remaining dates open for private mini sessions.  Details are here.

*Fine Art Canvas sale is over this week! If you were planning on getting a canvas on your walls from a previous session the sale price ends on 2/28.  Please contact me soon so I can get your gallery online with plenty of time left for you to order.

*Business Spotlights - I am always looking for local businesses to feature on the blog.  If you have a business of your own (or know someone that does) and would like to get the word out there, please send me a note.  You can see previous spotlights here.

So after the last few days of sleeping randomly at odd times of day it’s time to get my ball rolling again.  Sneak peeks are coming soon, some new business spotlights, new products, free sessions…lots to watch the blog for!  I have missed you!

Out of the office

I am leaving tomorrow for a photographer’s conference and will be out of the office until Thursday.  I will be checking email when possible and hope to be back later next week full of knowledge and inspiration!  Happy Valentine’s Day to all!

Spring!

The break in the weather has people thinking spring (including ME, I just can’t take the cold any longer!) and suddenly the schedule is getting full.  February has one remaining date open, March has three and April has four.  Weekends are very limited with only one left Until May.

Private mini sessions are available for those remaining dates, contact me if your interesting in a day of photography with your friends.

I can not tell you how excited I am to get outside shooting again, so thank you so much for thinking of me!

Flashes of Hope

I am back in town and we survived a week at Disney with alternating strep throat and stomach bugs - oh yeah!  But it was warm, and if you have to be sick I guess it’s better to be sick in sunny Florida!  It was a great getaway with the fam and despite the challenges we did have a great time.

But back to the topic at hand - finally sharing some images from my January day at UNC Children’s Hospital with Flashes of Hope.  A little about Flashes of Hope: (from their website) Flashes of Hope is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other life threatening illnesses. The portraits, taken by award-winning photographers, help children feel better about their changing appearance by celebrating it. For families of terminally ill children, it’s especially important to have a portrait that preserves forever the beauty, grace and dignity of their child.

I was honored to work with these amazing grown ups and precious kids.  I wish I could share every single photo from the day, but please enjoy this small portion of the beautiful faces and sweet spirits of the day.  I was blessed to meet each one.
