And of course, more of Lil sis coming soon.

I updated the availability page with current info. The booked dates are tentative until I receive the session fee and paperwork so that information could change at any time. Please send in your fee asap to save the date! If/when I fill up I will start a waiting list.
Also, I have an opening for next week. Wednesday, September 5th. Please contact me if you’re interested in booking!
Ok, I know this Mama is (not so) patiently waiting for a sneak peek so I will deliver! First, let me just say that this little doll:

Is THIS little doll from some months ago:

I love it! She was a gorgeous newborn but let me tell you, she’s break your heart gorgeous now too. And because that’s not enough, there is a gorgeous brother too.

The weather cooperated and it was only mildly scorching instead of devastatingly scorching, but then we did have the grounds crew working around us for the entire session churning up dust and grass clippings. But what fun is a session is *something* doesn’t go awry. It makes life interesting!

And here’s one more of big brother showing me his wicked kung fu moves. I know you’re scared.

Such a fun bunch!
Because I just can’t stop myself. This is the very last shot we tried and I wasn’t sure it was going to happen. This is her great grandma’s chair and every time we’d try to get some shots on it - surprise, we’d get a poopy! But again cool Mom (mentioned below) wasn’t deterred by a little poo, so we tried again and got this (very very FAST) shot!

But weeks and weeks of horrible drought give you plenty of dry leaves to jump in! Today’s session was all about newborn sister but while she was getting a little snack, I went out to play with the new big sister. She became my buddy right away and we explored the backyard and made tee pees out of sticks and dug in the dirt. My favorite part of this image is her outfit. She picked it out herself. I love the mismatched pink and the skirt that "twirls really pretty" with tulle underneath. I love that mom didn’t try to convince her to change into something more portrait worthy but instead just told her she looked beautiful. No, it’s not a formal portrait but it’s her, in all of her four and a half years of glory. In pink, just like she wanted.

I’m so excited about tomorrow! I received a call from the yearbook teacher at Bethesda Christian Academy last week to ask if I would be willing to come in and teach the kids (7th and 8th graders) some basics of photography. Would I?! I have a soft spot in my heart for yearbook since I got my start with cameras there many years ago (and later took a job with the photography studio that worked with the school), and I love working with kids, and I really enjoy sharing my love of photography - it’s a perfect fit! So tomorrow after I have wrapped up my newborn session I will head over to teach the kids some basics, and then return in a few weeks to critique some of their work and see how they have grown. It doesn’t take much to make me happy, I’m very excited!
On a another note, I managed to catch that awful, awful summer cold that has been going around last week and it really knocked me out of commission. I can’t remember the last time a cold made me so miserable! I had a talk with my sinuses this morning and they now know they have no choice but to be well by tomorrow. In my cold medicine haze I did manage to add a page to the blog where I can keep up with current availability. It’s linked to the left. Did anyone notice how I managed to hose the blog for most of yesterday? Great idea on my part to try and rearrange things when I was in a fog!
Made Mommy wait days and days past her due date, but I think it’s safe to say he was worth the wait. He was an absolute angel, I’m not sure I heard a peep from him the entire time I was there. He wanted to stay awake but with those big alert eyes, who was I to say no to him!
