Beautiful family

Tuesday, October 31st, 2006

This was a newborn session where I stole a few of the big brother and sister too. Such a beautiful family inside and out, truly.  Mom was one of those that looked fabulous just after having a baby…you know the type :-)  And believe it or not, this newborn ROLLED OVER during our session.  We all sat stunned.

And as a sneak peak, one of these will be going up large in my gallery at Amante pizza next week…

8 weeks left

Eight weeks until Christmas!!  Does that just knock the wind out of your sails like it did me?  Eight weeks and this year is over and we move into 2007.  I am sure I have said it before, but I really think this was the fastest year to fly by yet.  It makes me a little sad when I look at just how fast my munchkins are growing up.  It’s so easy to get caught up in the every day and miss the little things that are so incredibly sweet - and incredibly fleeting.  This is why the investment of custom photography is so important.  I am sure if my clients from this past year look at their portraits now, their babies have changed, even since then.  Gosh, let me change the subject before I get all teary eyed :-)

But on that same note I decided to leave the piles of work on my desk for a few hours and trade it for piles of leaves.  I told my two we were going for a nature walk (I can’t tell them we’re going to take pictures if I want a positive reaction - COPS = Children of Photographers Syndrome) and we walked around Umstead.  This darn early winter we’re having made it pretty uncomfortable and we had to cut it short, but I did manage to get a few and believe it or not, my own kids don’t get sessions very often!

Boys have outnumbered girls with my latest newborn sessions, each as sweet as the next!

Who says teenagers are tough to connect with?

Tuesday, October 24th, 2006

I connected with this 17 year old in no time at all! :-)  I had the opportunity to photograph this gorgeous home for the fabulous (and adorable) Erin Slaten a few weeks ago.   Stop by and check it out (and check out the uber-cool chairs in the kitchen…love them!)!

Boy oh boy, we are in it now!  I am plugging away at proofing all the fall sessions and things are running a little slower than normal, but so far not too bad.  I have had more newborns in a row than ever before, it’s been so cool getting to sneak at least one snuggle in with each one.  Got to get those tiny baby snuggles from somewhere, since mine aren’t so little anymore! Here’s a peak of a newborn from last week.

The email bandit

Wednesday, October 18th, 2006

If you have emailed me in the last few weeks and didn’t hear back, PLEASE leave me a comment on my blog and let me know.  I had a client emailing me all week, thinking I was just to busy to respond - and i never got one of her notes.   I may be  busy but i will never knowingly ignore an email!

November! November! November!

Tuesday, October 17th, 2006

There is just no more room in October for sessions, I have people booked in upside and sideways to fit.  But with my recent acquisition of an extra set of hands I am able to book a few more November sessions (yay!).  We’re looking at the first two weeks of November and that is it until 2007!  Remaining December spots are being reserved for newborn sessions.  So please contact me soon, when these are gone I just can’t squeeze any more in!
